The principles
- Your data stays on your iPhone. Tax Days uses SwiftData for local storage. Optional sync runs through Apple's CloudKit, which is end-to-end encrypted and inaccessible to us.
- No accounts, no servers, no logs. We can't sell what we never collected. We have no database of users.
- No GPS auto-tracking. You log a trip when it happens — 5 seconds. No background location, no battery drain, no continuous trail.
- Honest pricing. $19.99/year. Free tier with limited rules. No upsells, no enterprise inquiries, no surprise charges.
- Source-grounded rules. Every rule cites the statute, regulation, or treaty it comes from. See the methodology page.
Who builds it
Tax Days is published by Parra, an independent software company. We're a small team focused on building useful, privacy-respecting consumer software. Tax Days is one of several apps we publish — others address related problems for individuals operating across borders.
How we make money
Subscription revenue from Pro users ($19.99/year or $2.99/month). That's it. We don't take advertising, don't sell anonymized data, and don't run a freemium-with-feature-locks game beyond a sensible free tier. The math is simple: enough Pro subscribers cover the engineering and rule-update work; the app keeps getting better.
What Tax Days is not
Tax Days is general information and a tracking tool. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified tax professional. We don't prepare returns, give legal opinions, or guarantee specific audit outcomes. We are explicit about this on the methodology page and in the app's own disclaimers.
