Why $19.99/year
Cross-border residency tracking has historically been served by two extremes: enterprise vendors charging $1,200+/year (with white-glove audit-defense services) and free apps that fund themselves with background GPS tracking and advertising. Neither fits the average individual with cross-border exposure.
$19.99/year covers ongoing rule research (tax law changes frequently), engineering work, and customer support. No ads, no data sales, no enterprise pricing tiers. We think it's fair for a tool that, on a single liquidity event, can save its users years of subscription cost in audit-defensible day records.
See the methodology page for how we research and update rules, and the about page for who builds it.
FAQ
Is there a free tier?
Yes. The free tier supports tracking against a limited set of rules — typically a single home jurisdiction. Pro unlocks the full 80+ rules, smart projections, and audit-ready PDF export.
What does Pro include?
All 80+ residency rules across 250+ jurisdictions, threshold projections, notifications at 30/14/7/3/1 days before crossing any threshold, audit-ready PDF export per jurisdiction, and iCloud sync across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Subscription is managed through Apple. Cancel from your iPhone Settings (Apple ID → Subscriptions). The cancellation is immediate; you keep Pro features through the end of your billing period.
Is there a refund policy?
Apple handles refunds directly. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com if you need to request one.
Do you offer family pricing?
Tax Days supports Apple's Family Sharing — one Pro subscription covers up to six family-group members.
Why $19.99/year and not free?
Free apps tend to fund themselves with advertising or data sales. Tax Days does neither. The subscription covers ongoing rule research, app updates as tax law changes, and engineering for new features. We think $19.99/year is fair for what amounts to ~5 minutes of professional-tax-advice cost.
